Teacher Training

Under the title “Pilates for Dancers: Strength, Control and Performance”, this workshop taught by Flávia Gioia (@gioiapilatesstudio) and specifically aimed at ballet teachers, will explore how the Pilates method can be a powerful tool for training and physical improvement for dancers.

Through floor exercises and the use of the Magic Circle, fundamental techniques will be taught to develop strength, control, alignment and fluidity of movement.
The aim is to provide a practical approach that can be incorporated into dancers’ warm-ups and daily training, helping to prevent injuries and optimise performance.
Content:
Pre-Pilates – preparatory exercises that awaken body awareness, connect the mind to movement, activate the power center, preparing the body and mind for the exercises that will follow.
Classic sequence – Basic original workout routine, created by Joseph Pilates, in the order they should be performed and their transitions.
Magic Circle – strengthening and connection exercises, which will raise awareness of the alignment of bone structures.
Required material: comfortable clothing
