Auditions for Joffrey Ballet School

ADAGIO – International Dance Meeting offers auditions for the Joffrey Ballet School, one of the most prestigious schools in the world, based in New York, USA.

Ballet Audition

Date: to be confirmed (will take place between 28 and 31 March 2026)

Type of audition: in person

Venue: Ourém Municipal Theatre

Audition fee: €10 for participants registered in the ADAGIO competition and €25 for those not registered.

Age range: 10 to 25 years

The audition is held in the form of a classical ballet technique class, giving participants the opportunity to experience first-hand the classroom environment of the Joffrey Ballet School.

Successful candidates may be admitted to the institution either to the Ballet Trainee Programme (A four-year program, with the option of attending just one year) or to the Summer Programme (an intensive summer course). In addition, scholarships may be awarded for the Summer Programme.

  • For the Trainee Programme, participants aged 13 to 25 will be considered.

  • For the Summer Programme, participants aged 10 to 25 are eligible.

1) At the audition:
The number of spots depends on the maximum capacity of the studio where the class will take place. Early registration is recommended to secure a place.

2) In the Summer Programme:
The Joffrey Ballet School offers around 20 different summer programmes, each with specific dates, locations, and a limited number of spots. For dancers accepted into the summer programmes, early registration is strongly recommended, as some programmes fill up quickly.

Support
